Who or what is the World Wide Web Consortium? W3C is comprised of over four hundred international companies including Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, Hitachi, Nokia and Toshiba amongst many others (For a full list of W3C members, please click here). The consortium's objective is the creation of a universally recognised set of internet standards, thus ensuring the long-term growth and stability of the web as a whole. If you or your company in the UK or Bulgaria are in the process of commissioning the development of a new site, its compatibility with the accepted standards laid down by the World Wide Web Consortium should be a prime requisite to whoever is charged with its design. Indeed, W3C compliance is now second only in promotional importance to well written, properly structured site content.
